Hi web-folks!
Have you installed Microsoft Windows Defender?
YES? So bad news, then good news…
I did it 3 weeks ago experiencing the worst performances of my WinXP pro laptop in my old personal computing history. No more a PC, but a GRILL!
What happens?
MSMPENG.EXE is the Windows Defender scanning executable.
The MSMPENG.EXE process eats a lot of CPU with peaks of 99% especially if you open IE, Explorer, or network intensive tasks, or directories with a lot of media files, scripts, executables, and so on…
Solution: open the Control Panel, go to the Installed Applications Manager.
REMOVE Windows Defender » your CPU-coolers stop to blow (wow, what relaxing silence) and the CPU returns to sleep for the most of the time…
Maybe Windows Defender keeps your PC safe from worms but, be aware, it BURNS your CPU FOR SURE!!! :-(

Thank’s man…. I was trying to find a way to take it off of my computer. It crashes every 5-10 minutes… hopefully it doesn’t crash when i am removing it XD .
